I overslept and missed the 11.30 track induction at HH on Saturday morning, so I did sod all Saturday, went out to Box Hill from home (Islington) yesterday - did about 75 miles all together, picking up a friend in Fulham who didn't want to go as far as me.
Had planned to go from Fulham to Kingston via Richmond Park, but there was a duathlon going on, so you could only ride on the roads if you were part of the race. Didn't fancy that so we did the offroad path down to Kingston, the hilly, sandy bit was fun on 23mm tyres. Quite hilarious overtaking MTBers (well, nodder MTBers anyway) on a tarck bike, got quite a few funny looks!
It was great coming back though as the roads were still closed, but by then open to cyclists, so got to do a loop of Richmond Park traffic free while the sun was setting, great stuff.
Beautiful day yesterday and glad I got off my arse and did some riding!
Have to say, found Box Hill surprisingly easy, just me?
Meant to say, thanks to Mr Smyth for the route from Kingston and back, I used the one he posted in the route database.
This is the route we did (although it only goes from Fulham cos my friend did it).
