cycling is basically non existent due to psycho road users, and terrible roads.

spent 24hrs there
amman is a nice place to walk around loads of ancient history / roman remains all very close to the heart of the city
roads looked OK from what i saw although that was from the airport to the city centre -

My Mrs. has a conference in Amman for a few days, then I suppose we'll go South to Petra/Aqaba/etc.
Any good tips for cool places to see/go to that might not be in the guidebooks? Are there good food markets in Amman?

go to wadi rum. take a guide up a bedouin route on one of the jebels. very larry of arabia.
