  • Any have any recommendations on the current state of bikes plus cameras?

I've recently moved and for the last two weeks I now seem to have been averaging 2 near misses/week. D= A few days ago a car just pulled out forcing me to slam on the brakes or be hit... and when you say something to them they're not to blame and apparently you had loads of room! It's frustrating because if there had been a collision I'm sure it still would have somehow been my fault.

And today a white van overtakes and crushes me up against the curb forcing me to brake or avoid being knocked off. I reported this one to the Police but again it's really just my word against theirs. All very frustrating.

I feel like a twat doing so but I'm thinking that putting a camera on my bike for commuting duties might be the way ahead. It gives me something concrete to get something done on near misses and God forbid I do get knocked off it gives me something to help get a conviction. Awful to think like that as prevention is better but I'm not sure what else to do (besides stop cycling which I don't want to do.)

    So yeah any recommendations?

    Criteria :

    • Long battery life, it's 1 hour commute into work and 1h30 home, so 2h30 absolute min would be good
    • Waterproof or waterproofable since it's to be used daily
    • Can handle British winter temperatures
    • Robust
    • Works well enough in low light
    • Small-ish, can mount on handlebars or helmet and ideally looks like a light
    • The cheaper the better, don't fancy paying out £300

    Cheers!
