Throbbing Gristle is a real challenge to listen to. It's just noise, there i said it.
but amazing noise. Not to mention they make their own instruments, combine both sonic and visual art in a way that most artists can't... and they're really lovely people.
I don't think I get this thread. Is it stuff we like, but that we think others might find challenging? Or is it stuff that we feel we should like, but find too challenging? Or what?
It's music people don't like.
why does challenging have to be disliked? The more you challenge yourself the better you become, whether that's doing physical or mental things. Music can challenge people mentally and the challenge can expand your perception. People who dislike anything that's challenging won't get anywhere... Some of the best music challenges you, your mind, your ears, your patience.... if it wasn't challenging it'd be boring and then what's the point?
