  • been watching this thread for a while, can we stop with the witch hunt now, or will people not be satisfied until he's been burned at the stake. If you don't give him a chance to make amends, by constantly hovering over every transaction looking to find fault and posting up what happens, you may as well let him kill this account and start over from the beginning. Or take the quest for a ban to vb.

  • what you said too

  • There's not fun in a quick death corny. Come on guys.. drag it out for me.. drag it out good..

  • no no. i think that ebay guy just stole jonnyrau picture off here to scam people on ebay.
unless, johnny has multiple ebay accounts. his ebay id for the free gift bike was jlau0123 but this concorde is being sold by tomohomo someone esle pointed out that johnyrau ebay location is both Radley, Oxfordshire, and bristol.

how many aliases can a man have?

    mmm?..

    Having helped initiate this all....gladly.

He was caught once, and then did it again to a greater degree. He knew he was caught and yet did it again. He was also given the chance to do something about it there and then when the dawes was for sale, but no, he greedily let the sales run and got a nice tidy profit from it, only to make rubbish goes at redeeming himself after he has pocketed the cash.

He's had his chance, burn him at the stake

Agreed. I believe in you Jonny!

    Now, where's my stuff?

  • To be fair, if I could have been arsed to travel up to fetch it then I would have kept quiet about the "Concorpe", bought it for pennies, split it, cleaned it all up and sold it all for a nice profit. When I stuck it on the Ebay thread that is exactly what I expected would happen. Probably would have got more than JohnnyRau did too. If the seller won't do a few minute's research or read the label on their bike then they cannot expect to get a decent price. At least by putting it on the Ebay thread I probably got the seller a few more quid.

I wouldn't claim freecycle stuff and sell it though. That is low.

Ebay probably take a dim view of people using multiple accounts. Any record of shill bidding at all?

  • Has this been resolved yet?

As a member of a few cycling forums, I've been watching this with great interest.

To 'work', any online forum has to assume that members are acting with decent intentions towards their fellow members; if this occurs, then a spirit of goodwill will exist between both individual members and the forum as a wider entity.

I've not sold on this forum, but I've bought from quite a few - all good transactions. I've worked on the assumption, that deals will have a positive outcome - until proved otherwise. The parts that I've purchased have always been sold for a 'fair' price; a 'win win' situation for both seller and buyer.

It seems quite obvious to me that jonnyrau has acted far outside the 'boundaries' of goodwill & decency that are exhibited by virtually all other members. Not only has he sought to deceive members (repeatedly) , he has gone to considerable length to cover up deceptions. He has also acted in the same manner on other forums - further 'proof' were any more needed, of his modus operandi.

Surely, none of us want to deal with another member, when there is doubt in our minds, as to their motives? It is one thing for members to sell spare/surplus parts and quite another to 'speculate to accumulate'. Member A has an item that he no longer requires and decides to give it away as a 'freebie'; he is acting in a generous manner, intending to help out a fellow member. Member B 'dibs' the 'freebie' - he intends to use/keep it; Member C also 'dibs' the 'freebie' - he intends to sell it for profit. Member C gets the 'freebie' and sells it for a tidy sum. Member A is entitled to feel disgruntled, because he was only trying to do someone else a favour. Member B is annoyed, because he has been deprived of the use of that item.

Member C then has the audacity to assume that forum members will not notice that he is selling the item on Ebay. Member C actually feels badly treated, because he cannot understand why others do not trust him; despite the fact that he seems to feel the 'need' for multiple identities both on this forum and on Ebay.

How can we possibly put faith & trust in such an individual ?

And in view of the facts, why should we even have to 'try' ?

  • Hallelujah! Well said, and amen.

  • +100000000000000000000000000000

  • Has this been rausolved yet?

  • has Hell frozen over yet?

  • I don't want it to end, This is an awesome thread

  • Read the title, it will never end.

Normally I am all for the gentle approach Corny, but this guy is taking the piss. He's lying, then lying some more to make the first lie a truth, then when that lie is revealed to be a lie he lies again to hide it... ad infinitum. He clearly isn't interested in being a good sport, or to contribute to the community, and he is exploiting the fact that as a whole, if someone says sorry, we forgive them.

He's pulling a fast one, lying about it, then apologising. I say ban him.

  • a friend of mine used to say - if you want to understand smthn, take it to the limit of being absurd. i think that's exactly what hippy's doing here - the situation's not absurd yet and jonny is yet to make a move which will shift our paradigms of "bad trader". then he will ban jonny. all imho

  • I have received my items... 2 unwrapped items in a box. Newspaper?

**HELL YEAH NO!!! BRING ON THE FING MOB*****

Kids nowadays needs to be taught a lesson, let's make a ride down to his house, knock on his door and demand speaking to his parents, kinda remind me of *****!

jonny boy: you better make sure your parents are seated in front of the tv 24/7 till we appear, an angry mob could soon turn you from neighbourhood darling to neighbourhood-blacksheep/outkast, nothing malicious, a xerox could do wonders :)

    I have dispatched my associates.
