  • Yesterday was the most fun I had on a commute in ages. It felt like a tight technical piece of single track or something. Lot's of slow maneuvering, track stand, look in every direction, move forward and repeat. By fun I also mean death defying. Good for the awareness skills.

    Agreed!

  • ........moooove cunts.....

    cant go wrong with that.

  • What astounded me was the number of idiots revving their engines to rush into a space that was barely the size of their car. When there was a bit of the road available taking a good position on the road was almost impossible due to the freed car drivers rushing along the only 200m of free road.

  • Also amazed at how bad the driving of people on Boris' bikes was...you could tell some people hadn't ride a bike in years. But good to see more people cycling!

  • Im with those guys up there. Traffic is fun.

  • Unless you're the woman on the pink pashley who kept wobbling in front of me at traffic lights, apologising as I give her an incredulous look the 4th time, jumping most of the red lights until the last one where she wobbles out in front of a taxi coming from the right.
Could have so easily been another rider down.
    Bad times.

  • You'd had to be a total fucking spud to drive your car yesterday, wouldn't you?

I was such a smug bastard.

  • You'd had fail.

  • I'm pretty sure there was a big queue for Boris bikes in the city. I laughed.

  • Apart from increased traffic level in the early morning when it's normally quieter, I didn't notice much difference. Few extra wobbly nodders. But then that makes me feel like I cycle at 400mph, which is fun.

I really enjoyed this morning's commute.

I did forget my waterproof though, so I think I may get soaked going home.

@BlueQuinn The Princess says that there were plenty of BorisBikes available out in Camden, but they'd got rarer heading through the centre of town. She said the dock at London Bridge was pretty full when she got there though - only a couple of spaces left after she'd parked.

  • I might get one of these (looks terrible), just to use for a day (or 10). Think of the enjoyment you would get from seeing dumb-ass pedestrians soil themselves as they step out without looking, and you let it fly when you get inches away! They would never make the same mistake again.

  • head a few of them sounding off yesterday and I think a chap had one on the bridges ride - not bad.

I however still had my clown horn attached from the Skyride - that gets some attention

  • Huge amount of traffic yesterday; I wondered why

  • riding through hyde park corner, (under admiralty arch) coming down from hyde park, was an epic game of british bulldogs, on bikes, and on foot, no one seemed to comprehend that not everyone is heading the same direction as you.

  • +1 for cycling in these conditions; it makes it a more challenging (enjoyable) ride. And you’ve got a legit excuse for being late for work.

Somebody had an air horn at last year’s Brick2Brix ride. VERY effective.

  • You lot should use more back roads. Things were pretty normal for me on most of my commute miles.

    1+

despite the huge strawberry jams on the road, the back roads were pretty quiet.

  • The missus got stupidly fed up of inept driver revving their testicle as loudly as possible outside her flat, so she decided to sent a simple message;

  • My commute doesnt normally see me in the city, sods law that last night just after leaving work I broke a spoke so ended up having too ride in to get a replacement and avoid being forced on public transport today. I enjoyed it but it was madness. Some unbelievably idiotic cycling going on though...

  • And there was I, looking for a thread to insert bad driving pictures into. ;)

These were taken 2 days before the tube strike, so unconnected with that.

But its life on my lovely Old Kent Road, and that why I love it. Mad, bad, and true sarf London.

  • A colleague saw someone pulling themselves and their bike out from under the front of a bendy bus yesterday - luckily they'd not made it as far as the wheels when the bus stopped - and then an argument kicked off between rider and driver, both blaming each other. .

  • Bentley. Ouch.

  • Oh, wow. Thats fucking impressive.

  • ooooof classic OKR

  • GA2G: is that all one accident?

  • One twitch of Ashe's hips and the whole of South London quakes. Allegations that he was in New Zealand recently have been strenuously denied.
