If you don't already have a campag groupset then Veloce is a decent buy. I've got UT Mirage on my Merckx, which was the best I could afford at the time, but now that I've got around to upgrading I've opted for Rival. Much as I like campag (I've also got Veloce on my cross bike), Rival is £55 cheaper than Athena (and only 4g heavier), and the individual components are generally half the price, which was an important factor for me in terms of being able to afford to replace things if they break/wear.
