I'm sure I had an old one somewhere. Theyre kind of ugly, but I guess they work. I know theres an ITM one. Mine came with shims to fit pretty much anything.
(edit)
ah, google....or for only £5.80

(its now 00.50 am any minute now Chris Crash will come along and try and make out my question had no merit
or helpfully tell mrtrigeminal that BLB will take his forks off for him. Lets see) -

Its an unthreaded fork with a ahead headset on 1 and 1/8th inch tube.
Can you get a new headset that size ?.
Basically want a quill stem and 25.4 bars.
Thanks -

Thankssorry...I wondered why you were having trouble:)
threaded 1 1/8 headsets arent that hard to find. Think old school mtb. I think theres one outside..The problem is you need a threaded fork. again, think old school mtb/my back yard, but youll be lucky to find a 700c version, so you'd have to thread your existing fork. And if you think its hard finding a shop that will cut a 1" steerer thread, try finding one that even still has a 1 1/8 die.
And then you have to find a 1 1/8 quill stem. Not too hard if you want 80s mtb steel in a range of nasty colours, but youre sol for that njs drop stem. Although if you want to make something really nasty i guess you could use a regular 1" quill and the steerer shim from one of the converters i linked to earlier..
25.4 bars will shim nicely into any 26mm road stem though.Theres even a nitto custom shim for exactly this situation.

eggpie is right. Basically it's not going to happen without a different frame.

Use reducing cups to convert your headset from 1 1/8th to 1" threaded. Buy a new 1" threaded fork and headset and then you can fit a quill stem.
A lot of money to spend though! -

That'd do it. Any idea where can you get those cups?

There is away of using a quill stem in your stock threadless forks. The YST G-Force is a cheap headset that uses a clamp rather than a star-fangled-nut to apply compression to the bearings, and doesn't use the stem clamp to hold the setting.
Basically this means that it leaves the hole in your steerer-tube open from the top, and allows you to cut it off flush and put in a quill stem. It's not the best headset in the world, but if you have a bteer one you can keep your old bottom bearing-set and simply replace the top. Billys is advertiisng them at £1.99, but don't seem to have the 1 1/8" size.
The Diatech ABN looks to be the same style, and is available from Billys for £9.99 in 1 1/8"

. . . but you have to hope that the inside of the steerer is 1 inch ? There is no standard ID 1-1/8th steerers.

Sooooo
Been upgrading my Grinder and I'm looking for more classic looking parts than what's on the frame now, one upgrade I'd like to make is a quill stem.Only problem is that the Charge Plug has a 1 1/8" headset apparently.
Is a shim to make a 1" quill stem fit possible/advisable?
As with all of my questions on here, may be stupid so I apologize in advance!
Cheers.

Cheers for the link, that looks quite nice!
Definitely more classy than the nasty chunky charge thing on there at the moment! -

both threads have info as well, the second one more than the first.

I don't get it (and the other threads are quite long!) .... why using a quill on a threadless fork???
-

Who knows....?
Looks over functionality?
