Digger, we were so close! Wish I'd had time to stop for a coffee but was having far too much fun with the carnage on the roads this morning. I love a good tube strike.

Best spot of my ride in today was some poor woman who had managed drive the wrong way round Gt. Portland St. tube and was facing North against the increasingly impatient traffic coming across Euston Rd.. It was hard to tell if she was about to laugh or cry as I slid smoothly through the chaos. I hope she's still there.
Oh, and also lots of flat-tyred bicycles.

Stand out moment from morning: big guy on a brompton, wearing his helmet backwards (really) telling me to "get the fuck of the way" so he can RLJ in the wobbliest way possible.

At the end of Kennington Park Road (towards E&C) in the traffic chaos at around 8:15 this morning, followed a lovely racing green raleigh frame, with white tyres I think. Rider had a skateboard-type lid on. Kept meaning to catch up and say what a nice frame it was, but my legs are wrecked after a half IM at the weekend. Also, at the lights, chap on a white frame, blue deepV wheels. Risers I think. I've seen you before on my commute.
I was the tired-looking guy on the paddywagon with the yellow wheels and yellow/blakc fakenger bag. -

Hordes of clueless fuckwits out today as expected - including a chap I unwittingly clouted in the face while indicating left while waiting behing a left turning lorry as he undertook me. Said lorry then took the turn so tightly it clipped the metal railings.
His words of thanks to me: "Oi why'd the fuck did you do that?"
Keep leading by example. There's not a lot else you can do.
I'm not a particularly territorial personality, but regarding the ~1.5m of space on my inside: IT'S FUCKING MINE, SO STAY OUT OF IT!.

I think I spotted Somebody on Narrow street if he was wearing a Silence Lotto team jersey. Didn't click until he'd passed me so didn't shout.

Oh, and also lots of flat-tyred bicycles.
Something in the general atmos or something, mine was flat when I woke up this morning so I had to get the bus. Spent the entire journey in thinking to myself "why is there so much traffic? Why is this taking so long? Why is the driver leaning on his horn the whole way? Why hasn't the woman beside me cleaned her teeth this morning? God!"
Whatever could it all mean?

Usually I can go all week without seeing a roadie going my way on the commute, but today's strike has forced them all to actually use their weekend bikes. Unfortunately, riding one day a week isn't enough to be competitive in the brutal world of commuter racing. Only the chap on the colnago got away, and he actually sprinted down a hill in order to escape me; an 18 stone bloke on a single speed with racks and mudguards.

Seen that bike chained up in the same spot a few days now (black frame red wheel just to distinguish from the undoubtedly huge number of these) won't say excactly where incase there are bad people looking for a free 'spok.
I like it, it makes me smile, even after a shit day at work.
