I have noticed in a trend in a few auctions where I felt I got a bit of a bargain.
The seller claims to be sent the item and it then goes 'missing' in the post. I notify the seller, who happily issues a refund.
Up until recently I had never lost a single item, and have an excellent relationship with my postman. Domestic post rarely goes missing in my experience.
I think instead of going missing they are 'ghost' parcels who never get sent so that the seller can guarantee a price without setting reserves or resorting to shill bidding. Plus they get positive feedback for appearing honest and generous.
How much stuff have people on here 'lost' in the post?

Never when I sent something, 2 times so far after buying from ebay:
I won a set of pista cranks from Germany last february, got lost in the post, 150 euros gone and never found
I ordered yellow bartape from France, was said to be mailed, never arrived, now I got the funniest mail see below, probably meaning he sent another set yesterday
"hello
I is you the sending in simple letter.
On Monday I you sending the second letter.
best regards" -

A few things, both bought and sold. Most notable of which was a guitar I sent through parcelforce. How the fuck do you lose a guitar?

My Mrs won a pair of shoes twice (2 different sellers, not) and each time the seller said they'd suddenly spotted some damaged and would refund the payment. Reported them and ebay took their account down

I've been following this. It sat at £30 for a few days, then I bid £120 yesterday and was outbid. Now while I was at work today it's shot up. I still want it though.

yeah I'm sure the seller is pleasantly suprised from looking at the listing info, i am. As soon as it was put in this thread i gave up hope of owning it. I'd be interested in the sale price not knowing too much about bottecchia, apart from they all look very ornate.

Am I correct in thinking you'd need a 42inch inside leg to ride that? How tall would that person be?
you know it's funny
this was on sale before, and it was bought. makes me wonder - whether it was fucked or the sale fell through. in any case - suspicious
