Dub, hip hop and dance music are all rubbish, but you could do worse than indulging in some quality rhythm and blues, soul and girl groups!

Now I realise this isn't particularly hipster and frankly I've never had much time for the man but many years ago Mick Hucknall did this on TGI Friday and I've been listening to it every now and again since then.
Skip to 5:50 for the tune. Some say it's not live, but I think they're just haters. It remains one of the standout vocal performances I've ever seen. With a visibly gobsmacked Jools Holland and a bopping Peter O'Toole looking on it's a splendid 3 minutes of anyone's time.

Mix from up there, followed by a compilation of music my GF made. Theme: space.
Feat. Eno, Clint Mansell, Tim Hecker, SonVer, Fennesz, Robedoor, Aeroplane
am heartily sick of all my records and everything on the ipod so decided to i-purchase a few things on saturday night. the last yeasayer album is really very good. was less than thrilled by the last field music and i am kloot offerings.
basically i'm sick of american indie, folk and country... well not entirely, but i am starting to realise that my record collection is frighteningly, almost exclusively white male american.
need to mix it up a bit. need to buy some dub, hip hop, dance... whatever. just need a bit more variety in my daily listening habits before i become totally stuck in my rut.
that yeasayer album is really very good though.
