I've got a vintage Raleigh Dawn from 1960 (the Sturmey 3 speed hub is stamped July 1960). It was restored a few years back (full respray with transfers, new handlebars, pedals and brake stirrups) and then never ridden. It's a 23" frame with 26" wheels. I'm 6' with long legs and it's fine for me.
I bought it for £220 earlier in the summer and then spent another £65 on eBay getting the correct pattern of north road bars and a replacement front stirrup for the roller lever brakes (both parts original Raleigh kit from the right period).
It's a great example of the genre, and still has (what I assume to be) the original Brooks sprung saddle. It also has one of the old brass Sturmey Archer gear levers. I think it looks superb.
I'm going to have to let it go because I'm moving house in mid October and I've got too many bikes to flit into a 1 bedroom flat.
I was going to post an ad on here in the next week or two. I haven't taken any pics or decided what I was going to ask for it yet, but I'd rather sell it on here than on eBay. I can't see myself parting with it for £200, but I can't see myself asking for more than £250 for it either.
If you want to come and have a look/give it a ride you're more than welcome. I'm in Crouch End.
If anybody is seriously interested but doesn't fancy a trip this far on spec, I'll nip out into the garden with the camera and upload some pics.
