But although the Gillott is nearly complete now I may shift it (or convert to fixed) because I'm gunna breath some new life into:
My 1985 Raleigh Competition. Had this since 1992'ish and was the first quality bike I built (got the frame from Hearne Hill Jumble). It's been hanging in the garage for years. I sold the Campag bits that I had on it and replaced it with 600 Ultegra which has also been robbed for bikes I have built for others.
Can't decide how to build it. The condition is not brilliant anymore so it's not up for restoration. I have the Sachs New Success with the best looking rear mech ever which I'm tempted to put on but I also have a Campag Mirage Ergo group I'm tempted to fit for practicality....(erming towards Mirage at the mo)
So the Raleigh is pretty much done. Managed to fit it up with a 9 speed Veloce group rather than a Mirage. It's just for knocking about on, not my pride and joy but has got sentimental value due to how long I've had it, etc.
