Anyone got a chainwhip and shimano lockring tool thing? Cycled down (into the wind! all the way!) today and have isolated the annoying rattling that plagued the journey as being a loose cassette. I think. Annoyingly, bank holiday means everywhere will be closed until I have to leave so no fixing unless one of you lot comes through.
(Still rideable though, if anyone wants to go for a spin. I think today pretty much crippled me so you all stand a chance on the hills now) -

shouldnt need a chainwhip to tighten the cassette
-
• #1029
Was hoping I could take it off and give it a nice clean too.
-
• #1030
if its already loose chances are you wont need the chainwhip
-
• #1031
Point. Still need the tool though!

Hi all. I'm based in Salisbury and all the bike shops here are closed on a Sunday. Is there anywhere in Bournemouth/Poole with a decnt amount of fixed components that I'd be able to get a 1/8 chain on a Sunday?

Awesome, it's 54-55cm? Will have to see if I can get a ride over after I've finished the Masters project later this week. My beautiful red frame got destroyed by a car. :'( -

thats fucked.
time and again its written that at scene you have to get photos, witness names and business cards if possible, this is all dificult admittedly, so is making sure you are always seen, lit at night etc.
cant see the rest of that thread, but hope you are still in dialogue with the person. -

That was the only post. She has given her insurance details and my solicitor reckons there should be no problem getting compensation. I'd rather just have a knee that works properly though, who knows how long it's gonna take to heal or if it will heal properly.
I couldn't have been any more visible, had two cateyes on the front on a red bike with a red British Heart Foundation t-shirt and a yellow helmet. :P AND it was only dusk, not even night.

"Hill" climb tomorrow morning.
http://www.christchurchbicycleclub.org/
I say hill, it's more of a drag, but I'm going along to check out the club and meet some people.

I had to triple check where that was, as I was expecting a hill! It is literally a few yards from where I live.
I would say the road up to Bolderwood is more of a tester/drag and there is also an off road option straight up from Burley. -

Best climb in the forest I've found so far is coming out of Beaulieu towards Hyth.
I don't think I'll bother to gear down for this one though, that is if they allow a non club member to come race.
Yeah I will be up for it for sure. going to try avoid riding drunk without any lights on.
