t.b. are you moving to the same place as me?
I also move on the 18th.
(Raleigh Park?)
I'm living in Kingston (so it's really only just about in London), Kingston Bridge House Halls.
i would argue that this reads as there are secure bike racks/secure sheds.
if when you get there check if this is the case and if the shed isnt secure then keep your bike in your room till they make it secure. clearly secure is a subjective thing but im sure you could easily get the police round for a security check and they could provide a written thing saying the shed is not secure unless they put in fat ground anchors etc. if their secure areas arnt secure enough to pass an insurasnce inspection they arent secure. so tell them you'll keep it in the house till there are massive anchors to lock to. or something.*
*having no experience of this i have no idea if this is bolocks or not.
Yeah, the issue i had with their statement was that it was a general statement made about all the Halls my uni provides, i.e. i didnt know what the facilities were at my particular Halls. But it looks like they have a decent locked area though.
I read that as motor bikes and not bicycles.
It's definitely bikes, the heading above it is 'Car parking and Bicycles'.
As soon as i get there i'm going to find out all the details. If i'm gonna be putting down a deposit for use of the bike sheds, or possibly paying a small amount, would there be any chance that they'd have to reimburse for any thefts? All it takes is one moron to leave it unlocked over night and it could be gone (once they get through the multitude of extra locks i'll invariably buy out of paranoia). And i'm gonna look into insurance too.
