ha, my legs are slightly longer than they should be I think. And my arms are a bit spindly compared to my legs...
On paper my frame should fit me like a racing glove, but it's just stretching my back a bit too much on a long ride, even with the shortest stem I could find I'm still resting on outstretched fingers and tensed front knuckles. If that makes sense
dmczone - that would cost lots money, right? maybe i should go for a fitting and see what I should be riding

Are you really that strangely proportioned? Allowing for a proper length stem for your size, you're effectively asking for a frame 60x48, which is massively under square when normal people ride bikes which are slightly over square. If, after a professional fitting, it turns out that you really do need something that shape, then custom is probably the only way you're going to get something to fit and handle well.

mixte peugeot in the shelter:
will strip off bits. will need new bb and headset.
?s:
1) decals? easy to get?
2) single speed would be easier (and use the on one hubs i've got), and cleaner, but it might be nice to keep it geared. any foreseeable problems in running a single crankset and a 5-8 speed (depending on what fits the frame)? -

Not heard of this, did they use 531?
I misremembered it. It's Rayleigh *Scattering.

Dear Sirs,
Why do I get buzzybuzzy from my stereo, when I plug the laptop into in through the headphone jack/stereo input.
Is there a way around this?
Also, does anyone use Airtunes? Will it work, with my music being on the network, and not the computer?
Yours sincerely,
Richard. If it's a 50Hz hum or a buzz with a 50Hz fundamental, it's probably a ground loop problem. It's a common enough problem that specific laptop ground looop isolators are widely advertised.
ace - cheers.
Problem solved - cheers AC/DC toaster.

I have a cold coming and it feels like someone has put glass at the back of my throat, what is the best way to soothe this? I have strepsils but they work for about 10 minutes and then I just suffer again.
edit: just realised there is a thread in general!

OK. I am trying to make an older Campag front mech work with a new SRAM crank (double). I can't get enough travel on the mech to get it to shift down to the smallest ring. I am at the limit of the limit screws.
Is it likely to be a campag/sram compatibility issue? Is a new front mech the only way to resolve this issue? or is the front mech indexing distance pretty standard and I am missing something obvious?

thanks tester, but not sure I understand the 60x48 size, do you mean + a 150mm stem?
I'm 5'11 with a 33" and a bit inseam. My arms are thin but not noticably out of proportion (at least I dont think so)

Not sure I understand the problem, the FD should have been initially set up with the chain on the inner ring anyway - If that makes sense.
Start again. Make sure the shifter has released all the gear cable, set the L limit screw on the FD so that the chain doesn't slip off the ring into the BB cluster, but also doesn't rub the FD cage when in the largest rear sprocket.
Once the L limit screw is set, pull the gear cable taut and tighten the cable clamp. You'll probably then need to tighten the slack using the downtube mount/guide.

you speak of square when the top tube and the seat tube are of the same lenght, that is quite common
60cm is the seat tube
48cm is the top tube
mean that your legs are very long and your arms very short -

Im serious... all my work trousers get two small parallel cuts of about 3 cm's on the inner of my right calf due to rubbing on something under my office chair. I have about 4 pair in unuseable condition. I need darning services.
my frame is 60 cm seat tube (c-t), which is perfect, but the top tube is 57 c-c and is too long, even with 60mm stem.. I don;t want a massive seatpost, are there frames which are 60cm c-t and about 54 - 55 cm top tube? Should I try a lo pro?
