ha! taken as such. i scoured tinterweb for adult stabilisers last august. the only ones i found would have required extreme cornering/ riding at even funnier angles than usual (they were very short).
thanks nhatt will try smeear.

Fluff, did you manage to track one down? If so, what was it like?
Tori, my partner, is not into cycling at all and is pretty scared of bikes and roads in general. However, at the weekend we saw a Pashley Tricycle in the window of a bike shop and she got pretty into the idea of riding a bike that she can't fall off. It seemed to me like a way of weaning her into the good life.
I would love to borrow one for a month or so, to get her on a couple of short rides and see what she makes of it. If she likes it then we would probably get one and use it for her / shopping / baby transportation.
So, does anyone have one that I could borrow for a bit? Failing that, does anyone have an experience of riding one, particulalrly around London?

Matt, have you tried the group in Brockwell Park? They just got a big lottery fund grant to replace all their bikes after some lovely soul burnt their storage place down. It's for the disabled (I'm not suggesting that Tori's in any way disabled by being married to you), but they have a range of bikes and trikes that you can try out.

You can also try London Recuments as well...they have trikes and a few others that you can try in the parks.

In Dulwich Park no less, and run or staffed by a forumenger if I remember rightly?

Gents that is a fine idea, I will mosey over there on Sunday with Tori.
BTW, I'm not married to her. In fact, I'm "Not Married" to her: http://notwedding.blogspot.com/

Heh, check this out that I found on the londonrecuments site:

A fixed wheel pashley trike.

backwards on a fixed pashley!
Cornering seems tricky, from people that I've seen tearing it up on trikes. But maybe that's only if you're going full pelt. Quite a few old boys - clubmen - seem to have them in their sheds. Jumble for a cheap option?
If you're going future-proof for the bairn then there are those all-in-one cart and bike things. Maybe I mean a Christiana bike? Are they hideously expensive?
BTW, awesome not-wedding hair!

Oh shit, I have just unleashed photos of my hair onto the forum. Ha.
Yeah, there are some nice looking heap ones on ebay, but I want T to try it out first, before buying one. Storage of the thing may be, ummm, tricky. I have no shed :-(

We've got a shed you can share! And I'm only offering that because the photos of you looking like the long lost brother of Jimmy Nail have got me through the morning.

i've had to have another operation on my elbow after a kerfuffle with a white van last year. i'm off the bike for a month at least and the thought of commuting 40 mins a day on a sweaty tube gives me the creeps.
anyone got one and can help? i got my eye on a couple on ebay too but thought i'd check here first cus its only for a month. its this or adult stabilisers...
thanks!
"help" (not really me)
