  • Cargo Bike running down pershore rd, by cannon hill park. Who are you and can I have a go on your bike? I'm thinking of getting a cardo bike for the school run.

    Was it Jez? http://www.birminghamcyclist.com/profiles/blog/show?id=3004025%3ABlogPost%3A4601&commentId=3004025%3AComment%3A4761

Half way down. I tried to embed photo here but failed.

  • I have seen a lady on a cargo bike, like a surly but not, on the moseley road in the mornings. She may have pink hair.

  • Yes indeed, interesting to see I work with that ladies father. I shall ask more questions at work.

No, not an 8-freight, it was one of those danish aluminium front-loaders, the ones with the retro 70s names.

  • That cargo beauty belongs to us at the Birmingham Bike Foundry (it's a bullitt)
We mainly want to use it to take all our tools/equipment to schools and events.
    It's sooo nice to ride.

That's the one. You're the guys I met at Cotteridge Park festival - met some guy with black ear studs.
Might contact you guys about the BUG at Bournville College.

  • my bike got stolen today at about 3pm. it was locked up to the railings by the cathedral at the top of temple street. please contact me if you have any information or stick a lock on it if you spot it.
please keep an eye out for it at the sky ride !!!

    spec:
    identiti persona frame
    velocity chukker rims
    white forks
    white gusset cranks
    yellow pedals
    and fat 38c tyres

  • Have you got a ponytail?

Saw some dude on the same bike I think a few weeks ago who had a ponytail. Was that you?

  • unless theyve rode brakeless fixed wheel in the street before, the thief might have died riding it, or at least had to walk with it. or put it in a van. so it might not be far from where you left it, or it might be very very far...

never imagined a fixed freestyle bike to be attractive to anyone but the really desperate opportunist thief - it's too much of a niche bike. though i suppose it can be made into an everyday bike just by adding brakes and a freewheel.

  • Im interested to know if it had a decent lock on it. I havent heard of many instances in birmingham city centre where thieves go to the effort of cutting through decent locks.

  • jake no fuckin way!
im on the hunt for it.

neither have i - every bike ive heard of being stolen has had a cable lock on it. including a (much, much cheaper) bike that was parked next to mine!

  • Spotted...

four thousand nodders wearing massive yellow bib things.

and that Identiti, can't be many if any others in B'ham, they have a big fingerprint for the headtube badge right?
Will stick out like crazy, I'm looking out...

  • where'z that bakery? i fancy trying some lebanese pastry

  • Its in Balsall heath, theres a few Kurdish/Lebanese places popping up lately.

    That one is particularly good.

  • Mary St / Edward St island

  • Opposite the Coach & Horses? Looking on Google Maps, looks like it used to be a plumbing & building merchants

  • In Digbeth, say a guy wearing an orange jacket and a skateboard-style helmet (I was eating a sandwich). Shouted 'do a skid' but he just looked round and carried on.

  • has anyone ever done a skid when you've requested one?

  • Yea but only a handful of times. I think I may come across aggressive when shouting at people.
