Standard toolbag, which I'll switch over to which ever bike I'm riding:
3 x inner tubes (a little overkill when I'm not doing long distances but it stops the rest of the stuff rattling around)
3 x iron tyre levers
Multi tool with range of allen keys and small spanners
small electrical screwdrivers (cross and flat, good for fine adjusters and picking shards out of tires)
spoke key
puncture repair kit
spare 1/8 links, spare 3/32 links
chaintool
tire boots
elastic bands
couple of plasters
Topeak Mini Morph Pump
I usually have a High 5 energy bar stuffed in there as well.
