I've considered carrying a small plackard saying something like "put your fucking phone down!"
It's another idea I've never got round to, like one of this reflective things that sticks out to the side of your bike, but modified with a scraper on it and a sign saying "careful my paint scraper"
(this was supposed to keep those close driving wankers at bay
