  • irisque...I don't have any spare spare sprockets sorry, but if its a dicta FW, I'd pass on it. Heard they are not the best. Sorry for messing you about.

  • that's alright, but just for future reference dicta freewheels are fine.
i didn't really want to sell it as I got it for free anyway (:

irisque, Charlie the bkiemonger has some gusset cogs FS. £7.25 (postage with the cost). I have a 20t one and it has held up ok when I use it while riding on Cannock Chase. Something cheap and cheerfull

  • ^At the end of the day, it's just a shaped lump of metal, it's not complicated so a cheap one should work fine.

  • yes and no - dura ace and eai ones are mint. very round, very good quality. but a cheap one works fine on everything except bling bikes.

  • ^At the end of the day, it's just a shaped lump of metal, it's not complicated so a cheap one should work fine.

Admittedly I don't know much about how to make them, but I suppose sprockets that have been forged and then CNC machined will be more precisely shaped, so the chain will run smoother. The additional process is more time consuming and wasteful than forging alone, so it is more expensive. Hypothetically.

Also, proper heat treating costs money. A cheapo sprocket might not have undergone a decent heat treating process, so potentially could be either softer (making it more likely for the teeth to bend) or more brittle (making it more likely for the teeth to snap) and generally weaker than what is ideal. Hypothetically.

Nowt on a bike is 'just' a shaped lump of metal... unless it's some £99 piece of shit from Asda!

  • WANTED: a 700c rim or a 700c front wheel, for road and polo use. thanks.

  • I have at least two spare front wheels that i've forgotten about in my shed. I know I have a Dawes 700C wheel... it's a Rigida rim of some sort. Cup 'n' cone hub. £20 man

  • Also... for sale.

    cannondale C2 layback seatpost.

    60mm stem for 27.2 bars

profile airwing DB bars, cut slightly

selle italia trans am xo seat

    kryptonite new york lock

    some bmx inner tubes

    some chainrings (probably 48 tooth)

    all kinds of other shite

  • Does anyone have a riser bar that will fit a 22.2mm bmx stem? Preferably low rise.

I still have an azonic frame and fork and seatpost for £50. It will have DMR forks with it too, not the cannondale alu one i had before. But I don't really want to sell it, so don't buy it unless you really want it!

I have an old Mavic cosmos 700c front wheel, 24 spoke, quite light i think but its old and the braking surface is pretty worn. £5?

    I'm in Moseley.

  • Very Off Topic:

I have several pairs of really nice casual trousers (maybe some jeans too), some unworn. Different styles, slim fit.

Waist sizes between 30 and a small 34.

Ive only gone and grown out of them all, really quite annoying.

  • need some wheels and a seat if anyones got anything... on a budget kinda

  • Got a friend who is looking for a 36 hole rear ss hub to build up a rear wheel for his fixie. He just looking for something cheap and cheerful, anyone got anything?

  • I have a miche primato 36h hub laced to a mavic ma2 rim, but it would only be of any use if you could get a new axle for it.

  • I have a mountain bike that would be good for polo - just needs an overhaul of the ten gang variable condenser in the freehub (or you could convert it to fixed using the disc mount)

    pics coming soon man

  • And by the way jad21579, if he's only running ss then any threaded road hub will do it just needs respacing and re-dishing.

  • I bought this as I wanted to get back into making beats..but have only used it once. I bought it last summer for around 150...

I will sell it for £110 as it is still in the box with the receipt and in brand new condition...

    Not a single scratch.

I think it still has warranty..(but dont hold me to it)

    Boxed as new

    Accept Paypal after dibs.

  • Irisque & Pastry: Thanks for the offers. I have let him know and waiting to see what he thinks. Thanks

  • Robadob: Just so you know I don't think campag made record strada cranks in 165.

  • Robadob: Just so you know I don't think campag made record strada cranks in 165.

You're right, I think 167.5 were the smallest made. Oh well, I'd be happy with 170s.

  • **Genesis Day One 2010 singlespeed **

One owner, well used but very well maintained. I've had this about six months and it's been my daily commute bike but also went on a few long rides, such as Birmingham to Stonehenge, so yes it's a very comfortable bike. It's had mudguards on most of the time but I'm holding on to them. Has a few very light marks from being locked up, but it hasn't been crashed or otherwise damaged.

60cm frame in Reynolds 520 steel, no damage.
    42 x 16 gearing (70.9 inches).
Flip flop hub with Shimano freewheel, no fixed sprocket.
Rims are in good shape, all bearings are good, new cables.

Mostly original spec but with some upgrades:
Bontrager Race Lite hard-case 700 x 32 tyres, front is perfect, back is showing wear.
New Surly stainless steel 42T chainring.
    New Gusset Slink half-link chain.
    Gusset Prosecutor pedals.

Perfect pub bike, winter bike, hack bike, polo bike etc.

Cost £499 new. Surly ring, chain, tyres and pedals were about another £115.
    Asking £250.

  • That sir, is a bargain! If only I had 250 quid...

  • Great price, someone get on it asap
