Does the grilling platform stand on the glass platter? If so, the grilling platform might also rotate whilst grilling giving an even grilling all round ... the glass platter would also catch the drips. However, I'd expect that the grill might radiate more heat onto the glass platter than it might expect to. I'd expect that if the glass was going to be susceptible under grilling, it would say 'Remove from oven during grilling' ... Hence, I'd just leave it in for grilling as long as it doesn't specify not to.
