Just picked up Demon's Souls for the PS3

It really is as punishing as everyone says.
Enemies attacks are just as strong as your own and your health is fuck all.
It's all about the skill and reflexes rather than arbitrary stats (though stats play a part as in any rpg).

When you die you go back to the start of the level (world) you were in and everything has respawned, and they knock your health down to 50% until you reclaim your soul from the place you died.

Hard but very fun, nice to have a real challenging game once in a while...

Demon's souls is probably the best RPG of the last ten years. It will haunt your dreams long after you've finished playing it, staying in the back of your mind like a half remembered nightmare for years to come. I still get a slight chill thinking about the tower of Latria
