• What kind of problems do you envisage?

Finding a front dérailleur that shifts properly with Ergo levers and what will be effectively an MTB chainset. Basically, you need to stick to the Campag Triple FD, which imposes limits on the total difference between the granny and the big ring and also to a lesser extent on the minimum size of big ring, since straying too far outside the design parameters leads to poor shifting performance. Also, the shifting will be compromised if you use a chainset with either different ring spacing or a different chainline from the Campag Triple. Some incredibly unlikely combination can be made to work, kind of, but the standard, integrated, groupset approach is easier to set up, easier to maintain and nicer to use. I wouldn't sacrifice all that just for the sake of not much more than 10% lower bottom gear.
