For Sale: Rare Lemond Carbon-Ti Road Bike

  • SOLD SOLD SOLD

A beautiful and rare, hand made carbon and lugged titanium 2006 Lemond Tete de Course is looking for a new home.

This bike is fantastic for technical riding and long descents, but really shines on century rides as it glides over rough roads like you find in Surrey Hills.
The Groupset is full Shimano Ultegra 6600 (53-39 chainset) and includes pedals. The only exceptions being a Dura-Ace chain and SRAM force (11-26) cassette.

Cane Creek headset, alloy Bontrager X Lite stem and bars. The front end is very precise thanks to the Bontrager XXX Lite carbon forks. Seat post is a very lightweight carbon Bontrager X Lite and the saddle is a specialized alias (cut out) 155.

Wheels are Bontrager Race Lite, which have been surprisingly durable and ride nicely, but they are a little soft for racing. Tyres are Bontrager Hard Case and just two months old.

    Total weight comes to 8kg.

Regretful sale but I have built a new BMC Pro Machine, and this Lemond is just too nice to sit in the corner.

£980 ONO for the complete bike; or
£700 for frameset only (inc Frame, Fork, Headset and seat post).

I work in a bike shop and can arrange trade price upgrades such as a new wheel-set, bars, bottle cages etc on agreement with a buyer.

A percentage of the sale will go to the forum, please call dibs and follow with a personal message if you’re keen. Test rides welcome for serious buyers.

  • What size is it? Looks 53/54ish

  • 54cm Seat Tube - 55cm Top Tube.

Stem is 120mm. Handlebars are 44cm.

  • WANT!

Lovely bike that deserves a bump...

  • amazing. i love these bikes! if only it were bigger!

  • It is my size... i have bumped it purely so that someone else will buy it before i sell stuff so that i can.

  • alu steerer on the forks by the look of it showing through on the stem?

  • That is sweet ! I love it !

Whats the saddle height ? Centre BB to top of saddle ?

  • alu steerer on the forks by the look of it showing through on the stem?

Yep spot on. Have left 75mm of fork above the stem thinking that I might sell.

Whats the saddle height ? Centre BB to top of saddle ?

Saddle height is 1005mm from ground up at a right angle - or 750mm from centre of BB to top of saddle.

As it sits, 75mm of fork above the headset, 20mm of spacers below the stem. So there is quite a range here for those looking for comfort or aggression.

My height is about 5ft 11.

  • Damnit ! My saddle height is 735mm. Yours is 750mm. So I can't use that as an excuse to not buy it !

    Like i need another bike ! I have 14 already !

    Someone else buy it !

    Pleeese !
