i don't think you'll see much gustav. I've shot night stuff like that before with leds on my HVX200 and you see very very little. if the dusk is still around maybe.
i just got one of these:but i've 'just' got it so need to play with it a little, before lending it out. ...and only if jonny wears it. ;)

would be a great idea . light may be an issue although it's all about the dark and the red lights. alternatively go out around dusk and get footage that will look a lot darker than it really is. i used an inner tube to strap my mobile phone to the handlebars to film in the alps and the results were positively fucking awesome. I now have a 12mp phone camera nestling in my hip pocket.

the **ContourHD 1080p Hi-Def Helmet Camera **looks ok and could probably do the job with a Hope strapped next to it. I had some surprisingly good results of night shots with a flip+Hope combo. Helmet camera footage tends to be a bit boring and i am not sure if that would do justice to the awesomeness of TRNC.

Duncan did some awesome filming for Swaintoux, http://vimeo.com/13211418
It was mainly shot from a static position on a tripod/the floor and a bit handheld I think. No doubt he can advise as to the low light conditions.
I think the problem with head cams for cycling is that you just see a lot of backs of peoples heads. It might make more sense to race ahead, set up and film everyone coming past and repeat. Or even dare I say send the camerman ahead in a car (headlight ilumination?).
Could make a nice little bit of film, if the light (or lack therof) problem can be overcome.

Only a 10k?
Was having a chat with Shootthebreeze last night about how nice it would be to get some footage of the Tuesday Night Ride Club recorded. For those of us who take part, it's often a regular highlight racing down country lanes chasing red flashing LEDs.
I was wondering if there was anyone out there who had a camera that we could borrow or alternatively would like to come along on a TNRC ride. Just be aware that much of the footage will be in the dark away from street lights (albeit lit up by strong bicycle lights) so would require a decent bit of kit.
Any offers gratefully received.
