If nothing else remember to lock a bike to a post that high enough, or is shaped such that the bike cant be removed by lifting. I feel such an idiot for being done like this.
If nothing else don't waste time with steel-o-flexes. Lost my road bike the same way earlier this year while locked in a very public place. Obviously they don't take much time/effort/noise to break. Sorry about your bike though - keep an eye on bikeshd.
My friend spotted a bike suspiciously similar to his stolen one on gumtree today. Lots of changed bits if it is the same (saddle, pedals, tyres, bottle cages, bar tape) but the desticker'd mavic wheels are the same and the unusual cranks look the same too so worth a look. Fingers' crossed
