  • anyone seen them or used them yet? they look a bit like dia compe and only 30 pounds for the rear and 25 for the front.

oh, and they have them in pink too ;)

  • Seen them. See no benefit compared to the £15 on one hubs.

Seems like a pointless idea to me, so lots and lots of people will buy them.

  • ya, does anyone tried it out? how was it?

  • UUUUUmmmm..... Those are Formula hubs. Same as System Ex, Formula, Condor, BLB etc....

So they are standard, but much better than that on-one junk crapola at £15. In fact they are, IMHO, the best sub £100 (each) hub on the market for riding on the street (as opposed to track). So by standard I guess I mean GREAT!

  • how did you come to that conclusion harry? have you ridden them?

i have ridden the on ones a lot, built about 5 of them into wheels. i think they are excellent from my personal experience using them.

  • They are horrid.
I've seen enough. I'd rather have the £30 ones please thank you :)

And more Gin. I've not had enough Gin.

  • seen is also good.

  • snoops u're a normal riding or you do tricks?
as long as its runs good, then is ok.
im thinking to get the £15

  • polo treats them very roughly, lots of hard impacts testing the axles and playing for hours in rain. They spin very smoothly and show no signs of any impending damage on the flanges.

Also I have ridden them through the snow on the road working as a courier and they have remained smooth.

I think they are excellent. Buy them, they are £15!! it's rediculous.

I can't comment on the planet x hubs or any of the others mentioned here as I haven't used them.

  • But another great hub is the suzue promax which is on sale at £30 on planet-X's ebay pseudonym 'priceshagger'.

I haven't ridden them as much as on ones but they are very pretty and I have a pair sitting on my desk waiting for some rims to build up, they spin very smooth in my hand and look lovely. Not sure on longevity but they are sealed bearing so i'm sure they will be fine. Fixed/free though, which is a bit annoying.

  • allright then thanks alot for the information.

  • Strengths:
-Solid large flange (ehhhuhuhu, I said flange)

    • Formula/iro/systemex price + performance
    • Colours
    • Hollow axle

    weakness:

    • Chainline a few mm too small I think, measuring centre to centre with 2 cogs on = 80ishmm (I just got some 1.6mm spacers, hub comes with a 1x 1mm spacer though.
    • More epensive than on-one hubs.
    • Probably shit bearings, packed to the brim with nasty grease.
    • Shit packaging, hubs came scratched.
    • Lockring not included.

    my 2pence:
Buy them if you want solid flange hubs, if you don't just get on-ones at close to half the price.

  • Currently £15 in the planet-x sale if that makes them any more appealing... I'm trying to decide between these and the on-one tracks. Mind, they have less stock of the on-one's it seems, so less choice.

  • i have the one ones. completely fine they are. really good value, even at full price. at £15 it's a no brainer.

  • I have used the on one on a few builds and ridden them on the track a good entry level hub that will keep you going for a good while.

  • Pista looks much nicer, if there similar price the decision would be obvious to me.
