Dropbox is good
you can share links to any files if you put them in your public folder
you can make sub-folders within this too, and you get 2gb with the free version
as recommended by Velocio I believe

True, dropbox is good if the files you are sharing will remain static. I use it for mp3s.
Google Docs does the same thing but you can also edit docs collaboratively. We use it here for work todo lists and shit. -

It's for sharing rather than collaborating, so will take a look at Dropbox too...

Does anyone have any recommendations for a free site I could use for hosting papers, agendas, reports, etc. for a group I'm on? Basically, I need somewhere I can post up and group documents, which will then email out to about 8 other people to let them know they're there to be downloaded. Needs to be relatively secure, simple to use, easy to access, etc. Must be something good out there, let me know if you have or do use something like this.
