Cycling or casual?
My Gf just got a raceface somethingorother jacket via wiggle. It's a great cut, fairly lightweight, showerproof and fits really well. She's wearing it most days.

Both! A cycling jacket that doesn't look too much like one but performs like one.
Wiggle has a great range but they look like cycling jerseys a bit too much. -

Ha, I know. I'm going for the men's bamboo one though as I think it looks better.
I didn't think this would be warm enough for those cold summer nights though?
Plus I have dibs anything in the swrve range and this is for the other half. -

Speaking of "what jacket", what's the difference between the Pearl Izumi (women's) vagabond jacket and elit barrier jacket? Who has used them both, and which would you recommend for summer riding when rain is a potential?

Had a look at the Elite barrier and didn't get it because it's so thin, more like a wind breaker. Not sure if this helps :)
make one like me! -

ugh, yeah, but what dang material? I'm also between sizes so I should definitely just get on it and make my own cycling clothes. I'm going to put an advert up for a fashion design student to find someone with more skillz of an artist to do it for me.

I found some polyester on Point North that's waterproof and I have a wicking liner. I'm not going to recommend it anymore until after I'm made mine. It could all go horribly wrong.

I got this one: http://www.urbanoutfitters.co.uk/Ecote-34-Sleeve-Moto-Jacket/invt/5113465540987&bklist=icat,5,shop,womens,womensclothing,wcoats
Only about £40... sleeves could be longer but it's ok.

Can't dig it, Ufrasia, I'm looking for ultra light wind/rain resistance. Whatever that jacket is that Jonny has, it's Pearl Izumi and I can't figure out if they just don't make it for chicks or if they call it something else. Maybe both. Should ask him directly but am at work and don't erally have time for a lunch break so shouldn't be on here in the first place!

Does this have a lining? I'm looking for something that's fairly lightweight so I can wear a jumper underneath but will keep me slightly drier than just wearing a hoodie... Thanks for feedback :)

Unngh, I've spent hours today looking for something that I think must not exist - does anyone know of a windproof soft shell (atleast two layers, maybe fleecy inside), that is cut for a tight(ish) womens fit, with long cuffs (monkey thumbs/loops would be good)? All I can find in womens stuff is shapeless plastic macs with mesh liners (do. not. want). Budget is upto £120ish for something decent that will last through deepest winter.

Check Embers. Not sure if that's what you're after but I am finding my jacket (size medium) pretty nice and warm.

Swrve Milwaukee should do the trick.

Do they do a womens version of the Milwauke, I looked at the UK site but couldn't see one? I really want something that is shaped to deal with boobs, I've got loads of cycling tops that aren't girl-specific, and while they work fine they I'd rather have something thats more flattering too for that budget.

Ah, I'm not sure. I wear the mens one and have boobs. I think they're reasonably fitted anyway.

Try Buffalo Shirts- odd, but they do work....

Got a jacket now. Its a snowboarding one rather than cycling specific, but it has everything I wanted and was reduced from £190 to £49.99 (thank you TKMaxx) so I thought why not. Its basically a fitted waterproof/windproof/thermal softshell with a soft fleecy lining, long arms, and an extra lycra cuff layer, so no wrist/glove draughts. TKMaxx on Charing Cross Road have got a million of them at the back of the shop incase its the kind of thing anyone else is looking for, and they've got a tonne of discounted baselayers in the same section too.
I could have sworn there was a summer jacket thread. Can't find it.
Have spent a fair amount of time looking for a summer jacket / warm jersey for post pub journeys home and the like. Is it me or are there none no nada decent ones?
Doesn't have to be waterproof, just warm and nice looking and under £80.
Would consider mens if not too man-like.
Any suggestions?
