  • That was good fun. Was sorry to have missed out on playing, but I was glad to be of some help with doing the goal ref, setting up etc.

That was my first time seeing any teams from Europe or NA play in the flesh. It was a good experience to watch a higher level of play than the current crop of UK teams, but I dont think there was anything in there that the likes of Cosmic, Bad, Apples, or even Cogs, Fiasco, Elks or Netto couldnt reproduce with time.

I think my favourite game was Cogs against Machine Politics early on in the winners bracket - Cogs really gave them a run for their money, IIRC the final score was 3-2, the Chicago boys were rattled, Jon Emmet and Cam came very close to causing an upset.

My most impressive team were Polosynthese, almost completely unbelievable moving and passing between the two outfield players, its as if they are telepathically linked, sensing what their next three or four moves between each other are going to be. What is also really impressive is that they're much less physically imposing than the American teams, but well able to compete. I'd expect them to improve as they get older, could easily see them winning any tournament as they develop.

Well done to Joni, Margs and Dean from Rusty Rims, I always like to see beginner teams do well, it was great to see them progress into the second round. Tits and Turd also did brill considering they hadnt played together before, afaik.

There was a great friendly atmosphere at it, strangers were well open to chat to you, something I find is a bit lacking in London.
Respect to Jono & Andy for organising it, and everyone else who pitched in too.
