  • cool i'm gonan swing over late afternoon as i'm behind with work

  • Come on ladies!! Lets get it together for tomorrow....who has the bloody balls???!!!

  • i want to play tomorrow

  • I'mma go look for a new ball today. What happened to the mallets? Did they get split up around everyone?

  • I'm in today, i have my own mallet, no ball though

  • Yep mallets are spread amongst us...who's idea was that, lol!!

  • Right, Polo last night was a bit of a bust. Props to everyone that turned up though, we can keep this going. We need to get all the mallets that we can, get a new ball or two and store them centrally. I am willing to store all the necessaries at my house as it is close to Preston Park and I'm always available on the telephone.

  • Let's order 2 packs of the Franklin street hockey balls, and also some of the cheaper balls diceface suggested. We can split the cost amongst ourselves.

Mallets, I will put a few together today. As to where it all gets stored I like the idea of an accessible place too.

  • ^ Yes to all those things. I'm will to put in for some balls

  • the ideal set up would be some kind of tiny shed (like a bike shed) that most have a key too and then there locked away but accessible to anyone who knows where it is, like someones garden.

i would but i have no garden
no do we have space in the club unfortunately.

  • I can cut some bamboo for mallets if you like?

  • I don't mind being in charge of getting 6 mallets there on time for polo when I'm back in Brighton. Should be back around the 25th.

  • Polo tonight? I couldn't order any balls as I am skint and unemployed. I take it we've only got 4 mallets too.

  • I can cut some bamboo for mallets if you like?

Bamboo will snap in no time.

  • Bamboo will snap in no time.
have a talk to shinscar, you maybe wrong

  • Bamboo for the poles or the heads? I can see it being good for the poles but I think it would splinter from being pounded against the ground. Please correct me.

  • For the poles, bamboo would be solid and light - super stiff when filled with expanding foam too. Heaps of the london guys use them. When I get to the workshop late next week I'll see what I've got left and knock something up

Heads - you're better off with plastic piping I recon

  • I just got in from playing polo in Bristol. I hope you guys don't see this as some sort of act of betrayal and if it makes you feel any better, I was thinking about you guys the whoole time!

They said that if we ever wanted a match, they'll take us on.

  • lollers, we shall count it as espionage! How did they play there? We've been having a right old time of it playing with a squishy vinyl juggling ball.

  • anyone having a game today?

  • weather is pretty shitty but i'd like a game before i have to go away,

    4pmish

  • I have the mallets and ball. Gimme a ring if you want them, I'm pretty sore from the tourney yesterday so I might not play. I live close to Preston Park. 07889 82 44 seven seven.

    edit - I only have 5 mallets.

  • why doesnt everyone just look afcter their own mallets, then theres no storage problem?! also bamboo does work fine for mallets

  • There isn't a storage problem really. The mallets all got split up amongst people and the rest of us couldn't play. Same thing happened to the ball. We need more mallets really. If you've got 6 mallets and the ball it's an instant game without the worry of who's turning up or not.
