Is this happening on both sides? You've checked you're using the correct pedals for each side, I'm assuming?

i have some of the same cranks - they are just insanely tight threads - put a thread tap through them and it will sort it

(p.s i haven't tapped my set yet but have put 4 different types of pedals onto the cranks in the past week and they have all been tight - 99% sure the threads just need tapping fresh)

thanks, will try this.

if anyone's interested, i'm under the impression that it's to do with the angle of the thread: the pitch is the same but angles are different. most pedals are BSC angle (60 degrees), campag seem to use a thread that is 55 degrees.
common advice seems to be just ram it in and it'll be fine. retapping with a BSC threaded tap sounds even better.

Hello all!
I've just joined this forum, I hope I can keep up reading/posting as my spare time is usually very limited, but I'l try :)
I live in London, I have a few Cinelli's, and I do have some experience within bikes. Hope I can help some of you with my (I say modest, then you judge) contribution.
cheers

Sorry, Opera has messed up a bit, so "this" post should have been in the "Welcome" thread.... :\
Now off to re-install the OS, much needed! ;)
Hello all,
Am having a problem with my Campagnolo Super Record Cranks and Pedals.
When I screw them in they start off fine but only for around a turn then they meet strong resistance. I am worried about destroying the thread on these.
They are both 9/16 x 20 threads.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,
