I'm clearly missing something here. As a straight bloke I quite like ladies. Now, I've always found that a great way to convey this is by not shouting abuse at them or trying to intimidate them. I know, it's just mental isn't it?!!!????
It's so sad to hear about how common this sort of abuse is. I know if I was in a relationship with someone who'd suffered this sort of abuse I'd be incensed.
I wonder if growing up as a young man with female siblings helps build respect? You'd hope so wouldn't you. I have a little sister and I'm terribly protective of her, it's often not conscious but literally instinctive.
