Why is it that the general public cannot seem to see cyclist even though they are in bright gear??!!!!

One day I was cycling with this bright jacket on and I shouted out 'Excuse me' to this women who was walking on the cycling path(GRRR) and then she goes 'Aaahhh where did you come from!!!'

Is there some reason why the public walking on cycling paths are immune to bright jackets, bells and shouting??

start of big rant.

just because you buy a yellow vest or wear a helmet or obey traffic lights, DOES NOT make you a safe cyclist or makes other respect you on the road or stops you getting into accidents. same deal with a fucking bell, it is not intended to make people move out of your way with fucking 20 rings of the thing. you are on a bicycle, not fucking hard to ride around someone. get over it, the world doesn't revolve around you.
