• I have a geared road racing bike Giant TCR Elite (USA range 2003-ish) in size L - 55.5cm.
The front fork is broken and has to be replaced.
The original fork is slightly longer than standard, because it has been designed for long reach brake arches (47-57mm). So, approx. 8mm longer than regular.

Does anyone know where I can get a suitable fork?
I've Googled and checked www.ebay.com frequently but nothing.

I know I can use an older fork, because long time ago all frames forks were designed for this brake size, but I think it will look terrible on this bike.
I modern carbon fork would be perfect.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

  • Would cyclocross forks not be a bit longer considering they've got a bit more room for tires? (thinking outloud)

  • Sorry. Far too long and caliper brakes don't fit.
I've thought about this also, but for the looks and keeping the original geometry/angles, I'm still looking for forks as described.

So, regular forks for normal size calipers (39-49mm) and CX forks will perfectly fit and work, since I will ride 23mm tyres. I even have them available. But again, not what I'm after.

    Thanks for your thoughts anyway.
