I got really luck finding a resprayer just down the road from me. He usually does car wheels, but he did a pretty sterling job of my frame and forks. Was going for what I call a 'Second World War' paint job...

Hi everyone, i'm Chris and I live in a sleepy little village called West Chiltington. I've just bought a frame and forks off a friend, not sure what make it is :s. I plan on spraying it up and making a fixie. I'm looking for a cheap fast alternative to go alongside my car, another project I have on the go.

i've been directed here by your colleagues on glasgow forum. they don't like me one bit.
i've been thrown off two forums now - glasgow fgss and singletrack - allegedly for trolling, though i suspect i'm a piss-poor troll if i am one, 'cos i post under my real name and everything i write about me is sad but true. even my opinions. i just have weird ideas and a snippy manner, that's all. but you can rip me to bits in return, i don't mind :-)
so can i come play here? pretty please?
both forums bitched 'cos i didn't do an intro, so here it is:
i'm ro, male, a doctor working in the private and public sector in viet nam, based in sai gon but travelling around the place at the mo' - for example i'm working up in da nang next week. i have a very old kona which i've converted to ss for use in sai gon where it's fairly flat, and a newer geared kona i sometimes take on trips to da lat and other hilly bits of the central region. but my first love is running i plan to run up the hai van pas just outside da nang next week. and if i can learn how to post pics of said event, post them i will :-)
the trolling bit? oh, ok...
i think fixies are for tossers and tiny handlebars suck.
see? i told you i was a piss-poor troll :-)

Hello all!
I've just joined this forum, I hope I can keep up reading/posting as my spare time is usually very limited, but I'l try :)
I live in London, I have a few Cinelli's, and I do have some experience within bikes. Hope I can help some of you with my (I say modest, then you judge) contribution.
cheers

Hi everyone, i'm new to to all this fixed wheel and single speed stuff but you boys seem to be having more fun than i do on my mountain bike so am in the process of converting. Im in the Twickenham area but plan to have a play on the bike and drinks in London. Whats the deal with taking my bike on the underground when i've had a few too many beers? Am i allowed?
Cheers, Hollywood.

is there a fixed venue for lfgss beers or does a random pub get posted and we have to find it? Am definately up for a cycling treasure/beer hunt aroundlondon.

Welcome to the hood Hollywood!
We have drinks EVERY week. In fact, we have them almost every day. Week days will depend on where you want to go
For Twicks, youre probably closest to West drinks
here is the link: https://www.lfgss.com/thread2333.htmlBut at the top of your bar you will see a tab called beers. If you want to go to any other drinks, theyre all there.
The first post normally says where it will be and there is normally plenty of warning if it changes which wont be often.

As for public transport. Overland trains will allow bikes. Buses wont. Some of the tubes will but i think it depends on if they are shallow routed trains or if they are deep. I can never remember which is which though... More informed forumengers will know.
-
• #3221
DLR doesn't allow them, I found out the hard way. I think underground do if it's not peak time?
-
• #3222
I think the rule is you can bring bikes on the tube, but not on escalators.
-
• #3223
hello, you can put the bikes on some tubes during off peak hours but not central london. there's a map here showing the bike friendly tubes
