  • Splined? Object got a new chainring today, he might be willing to lend/sell the old one

  • Ryan brazed on v brake bosses to my scissor today, he fitted it in so I could ride to his workshop, get the bosses brazed then ride out again once the job was complete (this was a massive help for me due to only having one bike).

They look loads nicer than the brake boss plate and I can feel a slight improvement in braking, I would recommend getting them to anyone who is currently using an adaptor plate or thinking of getting one. £40 well spent

Does anyone want to buy a v brake mounting plate? £15 (retail is £30)

  • So this freewheel business then, looks interesting...
Is there anywhere else to get a 22t freehwheel apart from JD and the states?

  • Good stuff Ed,
I shall inspect over the weekend if you are about.

  • me too, £40 quid is a steal!

  • I have an unsplined 30 ring you can have for beers.

I have managed to find a replacement bike that I can get by the London Open, but it comes with 39/16 gearing. On my other bike i was running 32/20 which was around 41gear inches, so i need to sort something out tomorrow, i guess the easiest thing to do is change the chaiunring down at the front, which are BMX cranks I think. Any recomendations of somewhere good to go in London tomoz that could help me out with this? Prefferably not too far from Liverpool Street, as this is where i am coming into central london from, but not essencial

  • If I could be arsed to fit my ne sprocket you could have my old 25 for beers.
You'd need to convince me it was worth the effort though.

    @ me?
There's a very good chance the 24 I bought off JD for the loaner is too shredded for use, so it could well be for a very good cause.
    And beers of course.
    :)

  • Sorry. For Woodrow. It's a 25t front.

  • Damn, actually built my hopes up then.

  • Sorry.

  • Ha, no worries. Looks like Woodrow's sorted. This community rocks.

    thanks!

    Hey Josh,
I have a well used pair of these…

    …I can give you.
Like I say they're well used but definitely got a little life in them.
I can sling 'em in my bag and bring to Downham tomorrow?

ddestroying it i'm afraid...although i think i read somewhere Brendan saying something about Hillbilly managed to get his off. But you'd wanna check that with him.

  • You can see those two holes? Use a tool which has two pins which fit in the holes.

This is the theory. However in practice the only tools that will get it shifted are a decent screwdriver that you'll never need again and a very big hammer.

These are a real bitch to get off.

  • Plenty of grease on in the first place then.

  • Sorry. For Woodrow. It's a 25t front.
Cheers for the offer em but I wanted to get it sorted yesterday, got one from the very helpful chaps at edwards in camberwell

  • in case anyone else didnt know this. I'm surprised no one has ever mentioned it to me before, but i was running standard brake cable housing and jared (FL) gave my brakes a squeeze last night and immidietaly told me i needed 'linear' cable housing. Its what bmxers use and its stops the cable binding. Golden wheel your a shit for keeping this info from me!

  • He keeps all the good info to himself!

  • ...and i gave him my brake for the ehbpc final!
