OLMO GIRO ROAD BIKE FIXED CONVERSION
Seat Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Frame tubing: Columbus Aelle
This very cool Olmo Giro frame from the late 1980s has been built up as a fixed conversion. The frame is in excellent condition; the paint has only a few marks. It has Cinelli bars and stem (both excellent), Shimano RX100 dual-pivot brakes, Stronglight 100 chainset and Rolls saddle (both rear corners have cuts). The wheels feature Campagnolo Omega rims on Campagnolo Victory hubs – the rear has been respaced for fixed but the fixed sprocket is simply screwed on without a lockring – I would not recommend using them like this unless you are quite experienced with fixed wheel set ups... £225 with wheels, £185 without wheels
DAVE HUISH ROAD FRAME c1988/89
Seat Tube (ctt): 20.5in (52cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 20.75in (52.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 45mm
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
This is a really nice road frame built to a very high standard – I do not know anything about Dave Huish – whether he built his own frames or not but this is a very impressive frame. The paint is in generally excellent condition with only a few small marks. It will make a very easy conversion to fixed or single-speed. £125
SIRIUS ROAD FRAME c1995
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531C
This Sirius road frame is in very sound condition with generally very good paint and will make a very easy conversion. £95
NO-NAME ROAD FRAME c1988 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
This new old stock road frame almost certainly dates from the late 1980s and is built from a mid-range tubing set such as Columbus Aelle judging by its seatpost size. Its really quite nicely built and the red paint is virtually unmarked - there are only a couple of very insignificant marks. Its geometry and clearances are pure road bike. It will make an excellent fixed or singlespeed conversion. £83
PARIS CONDOR LUGLESS ROAD FRAME c1980 with twin plate fork crown
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 52mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
In the late 1970s Monty Young at Condors resurrected the Paris name and for quite a number of years frames were produced under the Paris name. This I think is one of the frames built by Tom Board as this was the period that Tom built frames for Condors. Its really rather unusual being lugless and has a lovely crafted twin plate fork crown. The paint is in sound useable condition. A rather rare and nicely detailed frame that could be used as an excellent fixed or singlespeed conversion. £125
DAWES DISCOVERY ROAD FRAME 1980s
Seat Tube (ctt): 23.5in (59cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
Rear dropout width: 121mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C with brake drop of 68mm
Bottom Bracket Threads: English
Seatpost size: 26.4mm
This Dawes Discovery will make an excellent budget geared or fixed/singlespeed conversion frame. It comes complete with chainset (the inner chainring can be removed), bottom bracket, headset and brake callipers. £55
SUN GT ROAD FRAME 1970s
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C with brake drop of 58mm
Seatpost size: 25.4mm
This is a sound budget road frame that really could do with a repaint or be used as a beater. It wcould easily be used as a fixed or singlespeed conversion £33
DAWES ROAD FRAME 1980s/90s
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 50mm)
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 main tubes
This Dawes road frame built with Reynolds 531 main tubes will make a very good fixed or singlespeed conversion. It is in very sound condition - the paint has some marks but nothing obtrusive. The right rear dropout has been repaired but I do not think this is likely to cause any problems. £59
ATALA ROAD FRAME c1986 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
Seat Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 47mm)
Frame tubing: Columbus Aelle
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
Atalas are (were?) Italian built frames which were of very good quality and wre imported into the UK for twenty years or so. This new, old stock frame dates from the second half of the 1980s I think and is built from Columbus Aelle tubing. With horizontal dropouts it will make an ideal fixed or singlespeed convesion. £125
NIGEL DEAN EDGE ROAD FRAME c1988 19.5in
Seat Tube (ctt): 49.5cm (19.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 50mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Very small road frames are really rather uncommon and this one dating from the late 80s/early 90s is in very sound condition. The paint has a number of marks but nothing which will be too obvious once built up. It sufficient clearances that it could be used with guards with 25mm tyres making it suitable for Audax/Sportive rides. It has a couple of very minor and difficult to see dents on the top tube - this will not affect the performance of the frame in any way. It has horizontal dropouts making it suitable for fixed or singlespeed conversion. £95
