I was in BLB earlier today and I was told they received 4000 Velocity rims only last week! There's gotta be an Aerohead in there somewhere! What's NSW by the way? Did you mean MSW or NMSW? If your looking for non-machined Aerohead's, i'd give up looking now.

Just get some Mavic CXP33's, they look the same.
-
• #6
Yeah, the Mavics are 2nd choice! But would've liked the Aeroheads.
@bongle.404 - My bad NMSW!!
I'll keep looking for a while.....!

I was looking for a low-profile NMSW rim for time! I resorted to contacting (Adam?) from Velocity regarding the 36hole NMSW Aerohead OC and as far as he can recall they have never sold them with a non machined sidewall. They do stock them in Silver with a machined wall. As the Aerohead OC rim is designed for use with a rear geared hub which is built offset, these rims all have a machined sidewall. However, if the rim was ordered through BLB, they can have it made next time they roll the Aerohead OC, though that may take some time.
If your looking into wheelbuilder.com they are talking blather...

Ahhh, Adam!? So the moral of the story is - give up!! I guess i can just get the CXP33's and if the Aerohead ever turns up, i'll grab it.
Cheers bongle.404

Spooky - I have been looking for 24" Aerohead rims to build up into a race wheel for my boy. Anyway, having established that there were none in the UK, yesterday I ordered a pair from the US (Peter White Cycles in New Hampshire - really nice family business with loads of stock; hopefully the rims will arrive shortly).

I visited this guys site earlier, but am reluctant to order from the states. You couldn't let me know how it goes could you?
-

Will do.

Willo - I'm sure you tried this already, but I bought an aerohead 24" direct from Airnimal cycles, they have stock for their folding bikes that they sell.
Also, for odd size rims try Whiskers cycles - 01438 798772, no website - I got the number from the chaps at Roberts cycles. I was after a 650c rim in silver (sounds silly, but I trawled most of the London shops and couldn't find one anywhere apart from H+ and deep V's) and they had a fairly large selection.

Airnimal had only ambrosio rims or the more expensive low spoke count options that they put on the top of their range bike.

Got a USPS shipping notification emailed through on Saturday - impressed by their efficiency.

Have the rims - customs charges (incl. an £8 parcelforce handling charge!) amounted to £28.63

Amazing! I've decided to hold off until the end of the month to order, but i will be using the same source. Thanks again for the feedback.

I know this is an old thread but as a new user I am not allowed to start a new one of my own until I have posted to three existing ones (as an anti-spam measure that seems self defeating ;)
Anyway, I am looking for a Velocity Aerohead A23 520 rim or rear wheel for an Airnimal Chameleon (or any similar 23-530 rim).
Anyone help me out?

5 years later and this thread saves my day.
So i've done a bit of interweb browsing and it would seem that i can only source them from the US. Tried mailing BLB since they're the UK Velocity dealers, but no joy.
I'm looking for either WHITE or SILVER 700c AEROHEAD 36h NSW and AEROHEAD O/C 36h NSW.
Any help would be ace
Cheers
OCP.
p.s. If i find some, i WILL freak out (Thanks to Teenslain for this, it's hilarious!!!)
