oops i missed this "say hello" bit1
The names Mr G - work moniker thats stuck - I'm looking to join rides but mostly to learn how to fix my almost bulk standard Maurice Mongoose 700! I like it as it is but wanna find nice black 5 spokes for the front wheel and maybe a paint job. I need some foot retention pedals first though methinks!
This is my prowler as is.. that French blokes above is really nice, it seems I need to change frames to ge a sexy bike.

You are wise Mr G in getting foot retention!
Hope to see you on some rides!

Hi all,
Just joined up and thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Stu and I ride a converted On-One Scandal (hence the imaginitive user name) with White Bros forks and I absolutely love it. Getting shot of the gears was the best biking decision I ever made (although I sometimes rue it when I get overtaken by some c*nt on a f*cking Apollo or Brompton with legs like piston engines!) and am busy trying to get a few others at work to do likewise. How are MTB conversions usually met on here - are there a lot of purists? Are we the poor cousins? Are they generally met with derision?

Hi, been lurking/browsing classifieds for a while as I'm after my first SS road bike! Can't afford a geared bike and hate gear maintenance so seems the most logical solution.

Hi everybody I am new on this forum. I live In Lyon(France) at the moment and I will move to London on 2nd of september. I am sorry if my english is bad, I will work it.
I ride a fixed gear bike since one year now, I play polo (not since one month because I have no time, but normally I play polo!). My bike is a grey sparton frame:
See you soon on the streets or on the court.
Ho! And if you have an available room to rent, or house to share, ideally in South London, for a couple, let me know. -

Thanks for fixing the link hippy, much appreciated. Please let Mr know what the prob waa broken.
Hey chainbreaker, hope to see you on the streets. Just don't shout "fakenger" at me, cause I might fall off or crash!
Anybody got any tips on procuring cheap bits? Wheels, peddle etc. I hear all these stories of peeps finding mint pieces in bins and skips. All I find are syringes and used condoms!

• #3192
Use syringes and condoms then, make do and mend is the English way.

Hello
I'm new on here !
i've lurked for a long time.
I started riding fixed in 1986, on a 1951 Claude Butler. Retro wasn't cool then.....it was just old ! But I was a teenager, and it was all I could afford. All my money was spent on my road racing kit.
Currently, my fixed collection includes.....
BT Carbon track bike, for TT
Hotta monocoque carbon TT
Argos steel TT
Dave Hinde steel track
Dave Russell 1987 531 track
Don Louis 1959 531 track
Condor alloy track
Bridgestone Keirin bike.Yes......I've got it bad !
I live near Wales, but spend time on London, LA, Madrid, Berlin etc, so I get to lust after lots of great bikes.

Hey, another new member here! Great site. Just got my Dawes Londoner back from the resprayers today - now got to get one or two new components. I will be seeking advice here!
Hello hello. Thanks to this place i've finally got my singlespeed up and running - bought a pair of wheels from bikeranger on monday, whacked the on to my old benotto frame and have been merrily pootling too and from work on it. much more fun that my old mtb on slicks.
