  • that was a crying fucking shame when the owner decided to rattlecan the woodrup!

  • my new frame.

  • can everyone please show theirs to everyone else as i am trying to decide between woodrup and steve goff for a new frame. think i'm leaning towards woodrup.

I think the current Woodrup's track frame are basically Bob Jackson's with Woodrup decals, I am probably wrong but I remember reading that somewhere.

  • i read that somewhere also, sad if true.

    @values, that's lovely.

  • Conservative values yours is a real beauty, lovely and clean. great build.

not true, they often use the same lugs and tubing, but woodrup are all made by their own builder. woodrup don't usually use fastback stays, or at least not neary as often as jackson do, for one, and their dropouts tend to have a much more 'finished' look to them (not so obviously just cut out of sheet metal). also, since (for the time being anyway) woodrup produce less frames, their overall finish tends to be better, cleaner lining, better quality paint. granted they are very similiar looking, but close inspection will show the differences.

  • @snoops, Woodrup do have much nicer decals, but my Goff is a very high-quality frame with a beautiful finish. I don't suppose you'd be disappointed with either.

  • Just refurbing my Woodrup road frame as it happens... Cant wait to get it built up.

althought this is old, I like to add more information about woodrup - the person who build frame at woodrup used to build frame for Bob Jackson before going on and making his own frame, that's perhaps why the frame look similar to the Bob Jackson one.

  • Here is mine. Just purchased. Build date confirmed as 1983 by Woodrup. Previous owner was a sign writer - in case you were wondering. Awaiting a B17 plus my carbon straight bars.

  • CV, love your bike.

  • This thread is making me cry :-(
I bought a brand new Woodrup from Whisker's bike shop in Kilburn Lane in 1984.
Lovely dark red colour like the one above.
    531, beautiful lugwork.
I would still have it today if some scrote in Cardiff hadn't broken into my shed and stole it in 1996. It's probably at the bottom on the Taff. Probably had no idea what he was stealing :-(

  • 55 square fresh from Cavendish when this was taken.

  • That frame look lush!

  • @pique, v nice. Quite similar to mine. Hope to see you on the road somewhere.

  • Bought a custom Woodrup 30 years ago, kept it a few years then sold it, wished i still had it, although Woodrup are promising new things for their framebuilding soon, may have to have a new custom Woodrup!
