The sealed bottom bracket unit fitted to your CREATE bike has been manufactured to withstand the rigours of normal riding.
We at Create bikes are aware that some of our customers not only spend large amounts of time in (and out of) the saddle but when using their bike as a ‘fixie’ they subject it to a great deal of harsh and sometimes abusive riding.
Under extreme conditions such as hard braking using only the fixed wheel, balancing the bike by standing/jumping on the pedals and performing BMX type stunts, etc., the tensile loads and torsional forces the bottom bracket axle is subjected to are immense. Ultimately, this can lead to the premature failure of this component.
For this type of rider, or riding style, we strongly suggest that a replacement bottom bracket sealed unit is purchased and fitted. Since when is 'balancing the bike by standing on the pedals' harsh/abusive? Isn't that just riding a bike?
