IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
by Create Bikes on Friday, 06 August 2010 at 18:21
If Apple and Toyota – can make mistakes, so can we - but as long as you correct the mistake, and my boss says honesty is the best policy! The sealed bottom bracket unit fitted to your CREATE bike has been manufactured to withstand the rigours of normal riding.
We at Create bikes are aware that some of our customers not only spend large amounts of time in (and out of) the saddle but when using their bike as a ‘fixie’ they subject it to a great deal of harsh and sometimes abusive riding.
Under extreme conditions such as hard braking using only the fixed wheel, balancing the bike by standing/jumping on the pedals and performing BMX type stunts, etc., the tensile loads and torsional forces the bottom bracket axle is subjected to are immense. Ultimately, this can lead to the premature failure of this component.
For this type of rider, or riding style, we strongly suggest that a replacement bottom bracket sealed unit is purchased and fitted. We recommend the Shimano UN26/110 or 113 which can be purchased from us at the price of £9.99 (See our offer when you checkout) or if you prefer, from your local bicycle shop.Since when is 'balancing the bike by standing on the pedals' harsh/abusive? Isn't that just riding a bike?

cheapish bikes don't tend to have good frames, cos they're cheap.
would a strong frame do?

Yes - I mean I recently got hold of a charge plug frame to build around. Just wanted some idea of whether it was a good idea.

Yes.
There are lots of threads on this sort of subject. Go to advanced search and select threads with no prefixes and then search for plug, fuji, genisis, what bike should I get, etc. etc. etc.

Much obliged

Charge plugs are great frames to build around. Mines been going strong for a while now and doesn't have many of the original parts as I've upgraded most of it.

When most of us pay that for a frame.
How about this? looks pretty generic pants to me.
I am not thinking about getting this bike.

Careful with your words .. he just put the wheel in the fork when he was putting the bike together, the picture shows the results. As for the brakes, they put 2 rear calipers in the box so no front. She bought the bike online.
Pista- I will find out.
