  • it work, but it doesn't stick when it's dry like cheap hairspray from the bottom of a cornershop, they're lubricated after all.

Recently I found that a tiny squirt of Muc-off works quite well too. Just requires you to get some air in between the rubber/bars to let it dry (dries quite quickly). Hairspray is great of course, but I didn't have any to hand.

I've tried hair mousse before (for lack of hair spray). I can safely say it's not suitable!

  • @Samdaniel Verrrry nice bike dude. Which bike are the DA's for? Not that? Consider selling me that Campag wheelset if you ever do ...

Can't believe someone would think 'mitts' (which I think is douchetalk for 'gloves') aren't cool. With an amazing bike like that. Just buy some nice gloves. Haven't you ever fallen off your bike and got roadrash on your hands? I literally can't ride without gloves.

  • Continuing from earlier post the Pace is now a fixed gear.

    Work done;
Replace RC35 fork bridge with Mavic brake caliper adjuster
Fit Mavic Aksium (700c) wheel donated by road bike
Replace Maguras with Avid Shorty canti's on front with Cane Creek reverse lever
Replaced old stem with quill to ahead converter plus Oval 120mm stem.
Bullhorn aero bars with Mavic tape
Middle and granny rings removed from Middleburn RS7 chainset (kept 46 tooth outer)
Standard dropouts replaced with horizontal ones
Rear wheel built by Arup from DMR 135mm disc brake hub and CXP 22 rim
18T Velosolo cog bolted onto disc brake mount.

Current set up gives me 67 gear inches, hopefully after a little practice I can drop the rear to a 17T which I think gives me 71 inches.
Anyway feels pretty strange at the moment but hopefully I'll get the hang of it!!

Thanks Skully, the DA's are for the Kotter yeah, I'm trying to put as much DA stuff on as I can, headset, bb, seatpost, cranks, shimano chainring and soon to be hubs! Which would mean this wheelset would need to be sold to recoup the rim fund. PM'd!

  • Cheers Sam.

bandit it's all about the MTB conversions... I love it.

  • Getting ready for MTBing, need to change the gearing though, 62gi is pretty high.

  • Get off moi laaaarnd

    ^Farmer Squablertron earlier.

  • That pace is hot (if totally bonkers). Great frames those.

That tyre looks huge or is it just the photo? Looks more like you will be going down hilling!

And yes 62GI is too high (but you knew that!), I am using 57GI off road on the fast routes in my area and I average just under 17mph and guessing you won't be doing that with those downhill tyres :-)

Think I used to use around 52GI on MTBs which is what made them so bloody frustrating on any road sections...

  • New frame (NS anal-og M) Im not using that stem or the bars and chainring, I'm also relacing the front wheel with a proper hub.

  • ^Is that your room?
It looks like you're doing time...

    Yeah it is.....
They are not shotgun cartridges in that belt, They are NOS canisters.

And the writing. well I like to party and I like to draw so there is an abundance of pens pencils and cans of spraypaint in my room so people get a bit happy..

Anyway this is not about the room its about the bike.

  • NOS, ewww....
got a good story about nos actually, after latitude we went into the security tent to grab all the tables and chairs and hire equipment they had. in the middle of the floor were two small suitcases FULL of nos canisters and balloons etc..

26x 2.25, not as big as the current 2.35 of the Fat Frank.

going to ride in Surrey so should be fine, don't think the tyres is a downhill one, at least according to the leaflet that come with the tyres that is.

  • Party is a noun not a verb ...

"I like to have parties" is English. "I like to party" is pure Doucheish.

Following your Randonneur episode I can see you having murders gettin that fucker on

I wanna meet the naked whore please

  • had the same thing from soyos despite wearing mits. Callus now : ) Nice bike

I never realised soyos made me a poseur, and can I get this NJS hand cream from NJS-Export? I think wearing mits would make me look a bit un-cool.

Thanks for the comments guys, gotta admit I think it has turned out really well. It's a big frame and 26" wheels (with slicks) always looked a bit small on it, the 700c's just look right. Haven't had the weigh in yet but it feels much lighter and more alive.

    Fuck you skully.

  • ...spring cleaning...

    in August?..

  • in August?..

No, in March. It takes me quite a while to get from "ooh, I found that missing part" to actually fitting it on a bike I only ride a couple of times a year. The sense of urgency now was induced by the imminence of our annual medium gear race, which is what the Rourke is for these days.

  • My latest track bike is finished and it's very light .
