thanks for super fast and helpful responses!
so I can get a 1gb infineon module from ebay for £50 or a 512mb crucial module for £75
£75 seems a bit much (it's an old machine) but is infineon any good?
Thanks again

That first ebay ad says it's shipped from taiwan, that could mean added VAT at customs + longer wait if it gets stuck there for a bit.
agree on the price difference though, seems a bit steep from crucial. Isn't there any ebay sellers with good feedback that are cheap and posts from the UK?

not that I can find - only US, Taiwan or China... I might just have to take a chance

actually - might have just found some...
I think they're right...

Apparently that notebook is identical to the Asus Z33A, cheap RAM here and from a reputable (non-Ebay) source.

that is interesting - that ram wouldn't fit my machine, but everywhere says the z33a is identical. hmm.
i bought 1gb, it arrived today, i works but the computer still doesn't - the problem was apparently with the 256kb of onboard ram that is part of the mainboard. are there any super techy people who would know how to go into the bios and disable that ram? or does anyone know of an actually good (as opposed to somewhere that thinks they are good) computer repair shop....?
Thanks for non-bike related tips.
I have this laptop that I am trying to resurrect with new RAM. I am having difficulty finding any / being sure that it will fit. It currently has a Kingston module in U3264C250 (256mb) and I would like to slot in a 512 or 1gb module.
Is there anyone sufficiently knowledgeable to tell me if
this
or
this
will fit? or does anyone have any other suggestions as to where to go to get ram?
I am getting frustrated as I've ordered from two places who have subssequently told me they can't get stock...
Thank you
