Memorial Ride - 11/09/2010 2pm

Passing this on. We all know that Lewes Road can be dangerous to ride on. It would be good to have people attend this, show their support.

"Joanna Walters was a resident of Hove and a trainee teacher at the University of Brighton who was tragically killed on 13/07/10 whilst cycling back from University on the Lewes road.

Joanna was a keen sportswoman; a member of the local yacht, hockey and kayak clubs as well as a keen cyclist. The cycle ride ride is a chance for people to get together and enjoy a sporting challenge and also launch the foundation that is being set up in Jo's memory. The foundation is being set up by myself (Jo's boyfriend) and some of her closest family and friends and will aim to support causes that Jo would have been most interested in. This will include education, sport and Jo also taught in Kenya for a year so potentially some overseas projects.

We are looking for as many people to participate and support the event as possible. If you would be interested in taking part in the cycle ride or would like to come along or support the ride in some other way it would would very good to hear from you.
