Barry practicing his falling technique?
Does anyone still live in Coventry? The ghost town analogy seems especially apt at the moment.
-

Too true. Not sure when Andy's off to Manchester, and I believe Keval is in the US, at least for a month or two.
Maybe we should re-name to East midlands & Warwickshire ;)

Andy has left already. I think that leaves no one actually living in Coventry.

What's that White Bike?
-
• #6
My crappy build :) Not sure what the frame is, but possibly 531. Bought it off Gregg (Obvious) last year.
-

Looks aright, get rid of that front brake though ;.)
Did you manage to acquire a copy of Council of Doom? -
• #8
No, seems to be a difficult one to obtain :|
-
• #9
I know, might have to do the unthinkable & buy a legit copy!
-
• #10
NNNoooooooO!
;)
See if you can get it cheap on US ebay or something?
-
• #11
Good idea I didn't think about that!

Yeah guyz - sorry to leave with no fuss or owt (saw Marcus breifly) - I'm now in Manc. Pay a visit sometime, there's sofas / floors etc.
P.s. Anyone looking to buy a house in Cov? One previous careful owner (and many before that - I was looking at all the old mortgage docs last week) - dining room converted to bike workshop space, nice fence railings at front for locking to, shed at back... ideal for a fixie skidder.

Did those bars/stem work out?
Good luck selling your house. It took me 6 months last year to sell mine. It's a relief when it's finally over.
-
• #14
Not swapped them over yet, been busy moving! Will let you know tho.
Need to shift mine quick if poss - paying rent and mort is not good news for bike shopping urges :(
-
• #15
You could rent it out maybe? Wish I was in the position to buy somewhere :|
-
• #16
Too much hassle - would need new kitchen etc before could rent out. Would consider if still nearby, but not from this far away.
What's stopping you buying? Nice job and you're probably paying more rent than a mortgage would work out at (even in Leam).

Doubt it, my rent isn't that bad as I'm sharing a 2 bed flat with a mate :) Too many debts etc :|
-
• #18
Get a 2 bed place and rent a room to him? :D
-
• #19
One good thing about renting is that you don't have to fix shit when it breaks. I'm up to 2.5k on repairs this year alone and still have so much to do...
Any builders (brickwork, pointing, rendering) want a job then let me know.....

never see any fixed guys in stratford! kudos on the trip, and the skatepark has only recently been torn down, it was much bigger / better before
-
• #21
Yeah, any idea if they're re-building it? Barry seemed to think it used to be wooden ramps. Concrete only now.
-
• #22
yep, all being rebuilt, it's taking a while but they will be rebuilding it in full concrete in the future, god knows when though
-
• #23
It did used to be wooden,
but I think it all corroded basically so it's being replaced with concrete.Hopefully they'll do a better job than they did at memorial park
Went on an impromptu ride to Stratford yesterday with Barry. Now he's living in Harbury we're getting out a bit more regularly.
It was a good route via Warwick, Barford, Charlecote (skipping west of Welsbourne). Pretty flat. I had my camera and we ended up at a skate park which seems to be in a transitional phase. Only a couple of quarter pipes and a few ramps.
Some pics on my Flickr account here.
Would be a good ride to do again. I managed it and got home feeling a bit wrecked, but not too bad ;)
