I double checked the SSTC route on Sunday morning; especially to see how it was after a night of heavy rain.
It was a bit treacherous, and it just fucks me up more than any other route I've done recently. By the end of the second climb/surprise section, I was strapped up in the hell cell. Lots of horses and dogwalkers, but they're polite if you're polite. Same can't be said for 4x4s on twisty narrow lanes.
When I got home, my lower back was aching, and slightly weirdly, my stomach muscles were all tender to the touch.
Bastard headwind on the return meant the 25-30mph section was only 22-27mph :(
