• hi there, picked up a singlespeed from create warehouse without knowing much about the bike itself to commute to work and back while picking up a bike for my nephew. A year on, and a lot of fun trying to make it a less cringe-worhty experience after UsingTFS a bit too late i now have a bike thats a hoot to ride, strong, and turns heads without me turning out too much pocket for the privilage.

frame - lovely baby blue 55cm create 2nd gen frame, (yes i now know what you know about create, but the frames are the best part. This one has no branding/stickers so i could have said it wasnt create but im honest and really do like the frame's strength and geometry) 74 head and seat angles and nice rear wheel clearance. few neglegable nicks from locking up but whos commute bike doesnt have em?
New 32h flip flop rear wheel (16t sprocket and 16t freewheel) as the old create one (looked like front) died on me 10 mnths in. front wheel still more than fine, both true and smooth with new rim tape.
replaced no name red chain for kmc blue chain (no quick link of death)
replaced the unsealed bottom bracket for sealed shimano unit.
replaced seatpost for thompson layback and bulbous seat for specialised comp bg143.
replaced cheese-like no name cranks for sugino XD 165 length and 42t for 44t chain ring.
replaced unbranded stem and risers for specialised langster compact drops, spesh oversize stem and tektro brake levers, bontrager bar tape.
replaced unbranded headset for cane creek headset (v smooth)
replaced unbraded plastic pedals for wellgo aluminium pedals(v smooth) and new plastic cages and wellgo straps.
looking for £270 ONO cash on collection from enfield or area of n london we can arrange.
WILLthrow in the risers (with compatable stem, tektro levers and bontrager grips) to allow you the option to change if you want - (i didnt want them anymore, you wont if you ride more than 5 miles in one go ) AND a recharable front light if the bike goes before the bits, which include:-

-stripped velo seat - ideal for customisation or good to go for sadist iron butts £5
    -create seat with cutaway £5
-black no name stem - free for buyer of risers/bike of if they dont want it, £5
-aluminium cutaway stem (side view seen on photo of bike with risers) £15
-black riser bars cut to 40 cm with tektro brake levers and bontrager grips GONE
-previous cranks square taper (silver colour no name) 170 length, bcd to be checked in a bit and 42t chainring fitted. £10 not pictured yet

the lizard skin on top tube isnt covering any logo or damage, it helps stop the brake cable from rattling on the top tube and make carrying comfier.
    thanks for viewing.

  • dibs risers with grips and tektro brake levers

  • pm'ed

  • risers gone,
guessing price for bike a bit steep so gimme £220, come on that better than the 80's peugeot ffs

  • 80s peugeots are rad

when you can get this one for the price you want for you create. just saying is all,

though i agree the create frames arn't as bad when you've got a 2nd gen. at polo on thu my friend came on one and everyone rode is and said ''ok its not as bad as i've been told''

  • "THAT ONE" over priced conversion no?? id feel safer on mine

  • You're probably better off splitting. Doubt you will get near what you're after.

  • You're probably better off splitting. Doubt you will get near what you're after.

After a quick breakdown on the price and the hassle I'm not sure you would be better splitting.

I think this is an alright deal concidering the mods... but on here... with the rep?

    IMO:

    1. Sell on gumtree,
    2. Take off the crap - reflector, etc.
    3. flip the stem,
    4. Switch to risers (or at least white bar tape),
    5. Clean,
    6. Run brake cabble down the left hand side for the photos not the top,
    7. make bullet point list of all your upgrades with google shopping prices next to them to show your total spend.
  • beater cranks, square taper, 42 tooth chainring and beater pedals - £5
plastic clips and straps - £3
    plastic bottle cage - £1
bikehut rear led and clamp £10
    micro rear led - £5
    aluminium stem - £10
    black 2 bolt stem - £5
    16 tooth dicta freewheel - £5
ritchey pro alu bar ends - £5
    beater brake levers - £3

seeing that the bike has a "rep" which also might explain the lack of interest im including the following to whoever may be tempted, these in addition to the mods should be all you need to start riding without any further purchases and hassles

various tools and accessories bundle - chain breaker, allen keys, 14 to 17 spanners, spoke key, crank remover, tyre levers, track pump, kryptonite series 2 lock + two keys, abus milliano cable lock + two keys, a Smart rear led and front rechargable led

not that will change creates percieved reputaion but if there are any peeps who want a cheap alternative to the more nice but pricey type of frames and bikes we'd all like to own but wouldn't like to lose to bike thieves, then point them this way please.
accessories in bundle are not for sale individually,

ps, you can guess what the stem would look like if it was flipped, if the brake cable was hidden from view it'd still be there, the reflectors are lights and if you buy it ill clean it. ill hold out on gumtree for a bit, just thought id keep to the rules of selling on here. oh, and here are the mod prices

    sugino xd cranks - £40
    seat £12
    chain £5
    bars, levers, stem £30
    seatpost £20
    rear wheel £50
    headset £5
    pedals and straps £20
    not to mention prices of
    track pump - £20
    kryptoS2 lock £20
    abus cable lock £15
    smart rear led £20
    front rechargable led £15
wont include prices of tyres and tubes, bartape etc as that would be rather silly, i might as well say i put some chain lube on that i want money for proportional to the amount used
anyway bike was going on its own for £220, but with lights, locks, pump and all tools £250 seems fair. you can still have the bike for £220 without accessories as i dont mind keeping the extras for my next bike

thanks for viewing, pm me for anything else and cash on collection in enfield or north london A10 areas.
